My meditation

For me, it’s relaxing to just waves with my fingers at this point. I do it constantly, not just to practice because it’s muscle memory. I’ll do it when I need to relax. A lot of my friends enjoy seeing light shows so much they say it’s relaxing to watch, like watching fireworks. At this point, the feeling of waving my fingers is like meditation to me, it’s how I relax and I hope that one of you can turn this hobby into a form of meditation.

Where to bring your gloves O.o

No lie, I bring my gloves everywhere I go in case a friend wants a light show or some random stranger seems… happy enough to enjoy one. It’s just a casual thing I bring around now. For you! I suggest bringing them to a party people always find it interesting and it’s a great conversation starter. But if you really want to show off your skills or just screw around an EMD concert or show would be the best place to bring them. You’ll find the most people there with them and it’s the best atmosphere for them.

The Spread of Gloving.

When ever you go to a show you can find people with the light up gloves. A lot of people don’t always know how to do the fancy tricks but they just wear them for fun. It is starting to become a trend at shows for people to wear them. It’s always fun to go to shows and show kids the potential that they can do with gloves and all the fancy tricks. It’s like a small community that has evolved from a few kids who could wave their hands around to people, doing it as a dance, and it’s still growing!

Why i Glove

I have to be honest with everyone this is a very… oh how do you say strange hobby. A lot of people ask me why I learned how to do it and I just say the same usual thing: I shrug and say the same thing “I don’t know it’s kind of fun”. I do it because it’s like a hobby and to be honest at this point muscle memory. I love to go to shows and give people who are up on cloud nine a show and see how they become amazed at the tricks. It’s a lot of fun to see a light show and it’s not the most famous thing in the world so why not help spread it around to people. Find you’re reason for gloving and embrace it!

IT’S DOUBLE LIGHT SHOW ALL THEWAY!

Just as a fun little thing I have meet up with some other kids at my college who glove and I have been able to practice a lot; I hope you’re all practicing if you’re trying to learn! We started looking up double light shows which is when two people work together to make a show. It takes a lot of practice to learn how to do it and both people need to be in perfect sync. It’s a lot of fun to do and I strongly suggest that you should convince a friend to try gloving and try to give a double light show.
This is amazing well coordinated and shows off the discipline that it takes to master this. Although as a fun side note try to find the error in the video, :D and practice with someone.

My Heros

There are some glovers that get sponsored by companies who make gloves to advertise the gloves in videos and at concerts. I love to watch these videos because they can show a person new tricks that can be built off of and can show a person good songs to give lightshows to. One of my personal favorites is Gummy the bunny. He doesn’t do too many fancy tricks but he puts on one hell of a show with perfect flow.

If you want to see something fancy then Stunna’s your guy. He can do some mind blowing tricks that I have never seen before.

MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!

:DDDDDDDDDDD This is my absolute favorite part of lightshows. You can use almost every genre of music for lightshows but obviously there are some genres that work better than others. For beginners you should stick to EDM music like house, dubstep, and trap. They are the easiest to give a lightshow to. For house I suggest you use anything made after the Martin Garix song animals because of the style he made it changed house and added fun features to the songs. Any type of dubstep will work you just have to know how the drop sounds and be able to keep up with the wubs. Trap is always fun but might be a challenge because of the off beats.

SET UP!

For those of you who have passed the first test and gotten real gloves, I’m going to explain something that is commonly over looked. ALL LIGHTS GO ONTOP OF YOUR FINGERS.  THE THUMB LIGHT GOES ON THE BOTTOM WITH THE LIGHT FACEING TWORDS YOUR PALM. They do this because it will show the most light to have the thumb on bottom instead of top. You don’t have to do this but it will help a bit. I went a long time before I made the switch.

FIRST GLOVES pt 2!

For those of you who are looking for a serious pair of gloves then I have some advice for you! INVEST MONEY. The more you put in, the better the gloves will be and the longer the gloves will last. For this I’m going to help you be a “baller” on a budget. First let’s go to this site:

Start looking around for a pair of gloves that has colors you like. They will all have a product video to show you what they look like in action. I personally suggest the Mardi Gras pair. They were my first pair and have the brightest color scheme, my personal favorite. Once you find the pair you like you I highly suggest that you use anything but the default casings for the lights. This will make them work so much better and last a lot longer.

FIRST GLOVES pt 1!

Hopefully, at this point, you’re thinking about maybe getting gloves to practice with or to screw around with. The best thing for this is to use pre-wired gloves. You can order them online, through a site or you can get them at a Spencers’, a store found in most malls in the US. These gloves are made for beginners, so they will break very easily. If you intended to keep them for use, you should find someone who can saunter. The gloves wires are held onto the board with glue so they will break extremely easily. If you scrape off the glue and saunter the wires on then they will last much longer.  Now you have a permanent fuck around with pair J.

Your own style

If you have been keeping up so far you should be able to give a really basic light show but none the less a light show! So now, let’s talk about styles. Every Glover has their own style and some even manage to make their own moves. You have to remember a key fact when gloveing, do not copy a style and do what they do. If you see a cool move try to add your own flare to it make it unique. I try to free style most light shows I give because I find it more fun that way and every once in a while I figure out a new trick. I highly suggest you start by giving a lightshow to a mirror for practice.

Tutting

I hope that the finger roles are coming along nicely and you’re ready to learn a new move! This time I’m going to explain what tutting is. Tutting is when you use your arms, hands, and fingers to make shapes (usually 90 degree angles). This took me a long time to learn and I’m still practicing it so don’t be discouraged if its extra difficult with practice you can learn how to.  I suggest that you practice stretching your wrists so they can bend more (this video will explain how - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXnfZ0WjvOg). But besides that I have another video for basic tuts. It’s the same video I used and its pretty helpful - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9N1UhWxU8s. best of luck!

Finger Rolls

If you start watching gloving videos then you can see that it seems a tad bit overwhelming at first but I’m going to try to help you learn some of the basics for now. In my personal opinion I think that the most essential move any Glover should know is how to do a finger role. A lot of the harder moves that you learn will revolve around this simple trick so it’s pretty wise to learn how to do it early. Before you practice take a minute to stretch out your fingers. This video will help teach you how -

After I learned how to do this I started to work on tutting which I will go over in the next post. For most people you won’t be able to do this first try so you have to practice often! It’s really easy to practice so if you’re ever just bored and have nothing better to do try doing a couple finer roles and soon you’ll have it down!

What it is

Today I am going to explain the different parts of gloveing and why in fact people glove. Gloveing was born when someone at a rave one day put led lights on his fingertips and wore white gloves so it looked as if his fingertips were glowing. From then people began to make incorporate tutting which is a form of dancing with your hands and arms and didgets which incase you don’t remember revolves around your fingers. After time light shows started happening which is gloveing with your hands close to there face so they can only see the lights. People all over the world started comeing up with crazy new moves. There are someplaces that will hold tournaments for it but I prefer just to do it for fun. If you plan on getting into this then you will need some motivation to keep you going because this can be difficult to learn.

Welcome!

Hello to everyone who is reading this. My goal is to try to explain what 'gloveing' is and how people learn to do this crazy new dance. For those of you who are already interested in learning im going to try and help you learn to get better and with my past experience encourage you to try new moves and styles. To start off Gloveing is a type of dance that revolves mostly around your fingers. Now if this is your first time reading about this then just using your fingers doesn’t seem that impressive or entertaining. This would be the case but gloveing requires a special set of LED lights and gloves, I will get into more detail about that later.  As a example of what Gloveing is please watch this video -
